My lightsaber case is a gun case with foam. I also stick a couple of the hex wrenches right through the foam.
I learned an important battery lesson yesterday. I was going to take my new "Consular" (the Qui-Gon look alike) to an event last night. But it wouldn't light the blade. Sound would work and there was a bit of a flash of light but nothing more. I was worried it was broken and I'd never even taken it to an event! After about a half hour struggle, I got the batteries out and put them on the charger. Sure enough, they were down. After several hours' charge, the saber works fine. I took my Ultrasabers Prophecy but its blade was dim, too. Sigh. Replaced the batteries when I got home and it is fine, too. My Parks, which uses 2 9 volt, seems to hold a charge for months at a time. So I didn't realize that would be a problem.

Alas, the Parks isn't nearly as bright, so the Ultrasaber does use up battery time at a much faster rate. I had the same think happen where the light went out before the sound did, but a few hours with the recharger brought it back to full strength. I'll have to make sure it's fully charged before taking it out.

Yes, I planned to get an extra set or two of the batteries, I learned with my cameras that one set is never enough.

Exactly, Nova. I have the very special Rechargeable Li-Ion ones so I'm going to "Batteries +" to buy some more. I decided I need a second set like my camera. Just as you stated.
