I haven't been able to find those windsheild wipper 'plugs'. Too bad theydon't sell those separatly in packs. :/ be a lot easier then buying wippers for a nonexsistent car.

Fotki permits remote posting of the image....but you have to log in to your account and then look at the tiny text below the caption and it will show you the url to use, it says, "Image URL for use on non-Fotki sites:" The paint job isn't so good. I've been reading what others have recommended and have the materials to redo this.

Blast, it didn't work. I wonder if I have to be a premium member to do that. Oh by the way, in your Pics of the book, is the belt of the same material as Amidala's grey kimono's belt? If so, I had NO clue the thing was white with gold embroidry.

'mynn: ah, probably, you do have to be a premium member.
yes, the belt for the book is the same as for the Ep I kimono. I don't think it is embroidered. It appears to me to be a pattern woven into the fabric, silver and gold.

I saw some of those before in different posts. All nice. They inspired me to make one I'll get pics up as soon as I can. Did anyone actually buy the solder lugs that were used on the original movie ones? I dont remember seeing any on the ones people made here. And Jauhzmynn Enz, someone posted the idea of useing car tire valve stems, I think it was Jedi Dad, not sure, But those you might get for free from a local tire shop, they throw them away when they replace those anyway. Temporarily I split and painted the ends of 2 toothpicks that had a nice shape to them.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Hey Jauhzmynn, and any other interested parties, A realy good pic host is www.yesalbum.com. Try this site, it's the one I use and it's very user friendly. It's free and it seems to work all the time when you go to it to post your photos to it. Just a thought . 8-)Jedidad

Thanks for the leads to great album sites gang. Kai, yes but it IS a beautiful belt. I figure when I make mine I'll need to emborider the image to the fabric cuz finding some like that is going to be nearly impossible. Do you have a very high resolution image of the belt? If not, can you take one and email to me? Ok comlink pic. I'll put the link here so you guys can check it out. public.fotki.com/Jauhzmynn/jedi_costumes/

Nice comlinks Jauhzmynn and everyone else. Although, I noticed that one of them has "gillete" still visible on it, are you going to cover it up? I'm probably gonna make another one that is two-toned (black and silver) like yours next. Whats the best way to do that, masking off certain parts or hand painting?

;D ;D ;D ;D JediBaja, There is a process called mustard masking. Believe it or not. I have used it on my PVC sabers. You take regular mustard and brush on several coats, (I use 3-4) when it is dry just paint the area with the color you want. Then after everything is dry use a mild soap, a sponge (non abraisive) and warm water to wash away the mustard and any paint that is on the mustard. It is best to practice on a like surface so you do not ruin your project. It does work quite well. I learned this technic off my prop forums I belong to. I hope this helps anyone who has come across this question of masking odd shaped areas. 8-)Jedidad "MTFBWY".....A

Interesting... thanks for that tip! I had thought of using some kind of filler for the back of it and to hide the "gillette" name, but I have not yet researched what the appropriate substance would be. Has to stick to plastic!
I'm going to try the mustard.
