I am starting to think I should make a pair of similar sabers. Do! The Maul FX is great when it's in halves... it's easy to use two at once because the weight, balance and grip are the same. YES! and since I saw the video of "some Jedi" in a convention playing with Mr. Ray "Darth Maul" Parks, I kind of want to get that Darth Maul saber. Bad thing is, I haven't seen any in Canada yet. How does the Darth Maul holds to a belt? Up? Down? I would guess somewhat sideways...

For the purpose of safety, wouldn't down be better? By this, I mean, if the saber were to be activated by an enemy or inadvertedly (sp?) activated by the owner / wearer, wouldn't it be safer it were pointed down toward the ground? Perhaps this sounds stupid but I'd think it'd be safer to sustain a leg injury than a head / brain injury in the case that a saber were to turn on while on a wearer's belt. For most it would make more sense to have it facing down, as to drawing and igniting wouldn't be as disasterous. Well, at least for those of us who cross-body draw their weapons. If you weren't cross drawing, it might make more sense to have it emitter up.

personally, i like the blade emitter-side up becuase i mostly use a under-handed technique, so its easier to grab on a cross hand draw
