I don't have time to make one and don't feel like buying a dremel just to make one lightsaber hilt. I've looked on ebay and saw some, but they were okay. I'm trying not to pay more than $40-50. If anyone knows, please advise. Thanks!

Hey Dave, where did you get your ROTJ luke saber from?

Yeah I completely agree with Dave. You can decide from what I have seen its very poor quality. You can find a resin saber on ebay and paint it. That might be tricky though, depends on how good you are at painting. www.rlsasabers.com/This would be my suggestion, you might spend say 75, but you get a metal saber and the quality is pretty good. I got my first saber from these guys and its nice, blends well with the costume. Currently I am supposed to get my new saber from Random Sabers, it goes into production next week. Keep in mind I placed my order with them in Late Janruary Early Feb. So good luck.

Hey Dave, where did you get your ROTJ luke saber from? I was lucky enough to get in on a small, private run of that saber, that thing is nice and accurate. Same with my Obi TPM. I know I have my Qui-Gon saber up for sale, that is soon to be replaced with a much more accurate piece Dave

If you want a cheap lightsabre, go to home depot, to the plumbing section, fit together a couple of short pipes with some fittings, and get an end cap. You will know they all work together because they are threaded, so you can fit them together in the store. Then get a button or something you like for the activation switch, and either drill into the pipe and screw it in, or just glue it on without drilling anything. That's what I did for my first sabre. I spent perhaps $15 Canadian on it.

I have 2 jobs and volunteer with animal rescue so I don't have time to make one. I have a '66 Mustang so that's where most of my funds go (besides bills). I'm trying to keep some of the costs down. Thanks your input.

I'm not quite sure you understood what I said. Do you have a spare 15 minutes to spend in Home Depot? Even with two jobs I'm sure you can manage that. It lierally only takes 15 minutes to grab 2 pipes, a connector, a cap, buy them, and put them together. You don't have to make it all at once. Just buy the parts, take them home, and work on your sabre 5 minutes at a time whenever you get a chance. IMHO that's a lot better than buying a replica 1) because it's of your own making, and 2) you're paying about a tenth of what most sabres cost. PS: Here's a pic of my first sabre in it's primary incarnation. Pipes, fittings, O-rings, electrical tape, keyring. When I got home I put on ROTJ. I started putting my sabre together during the opening scrawl, and had finished by the time Leia got Han out of the carbonite at Jabba's palace. www.freepichosting.com/Albums/421571937/8.html

If ya want a nice hilt at a reasonable price, I'd recommend randomsabers.com
Abbey and I have bought several items from Ryan in the past and he is great to work with. If ya do go with him, let him know Chris sent ya, and he'll take good care of ya.

Shatir, No, I do understand what you're saying. My 2nd job is building web sites I'm planning on selling merchandise (one is NASCAR, the other is outdoor gear, military shirts, boots, etc.). Very time consuming, uggh! Then I have 4 more to build. I'll definitely keep that in mind. Thank you! Mon-Jas, thanks for the link, I sent them an email. Chris, thanks for the tip but the web site is down. I'll try again later. FYI, I went to ebay and typed in lightsaber prop instead of lightsaber custom and 2 starting at $40 came up from one seller and another starting at $50 came up. So, I do have some options. Thanks again everyone!

Ryans sabers are amazing at random sabers. I am so psyched to get one of his. Heard his quality is amazing.
