;D 1st day of my "bd" weekend was interesting. I spent the day attempting to get my sound system working properly so I can listen while I'm recovering starting next weekend. I've hooked up my own stuff at home but have found out my speaker wires too short on a few so will fix by Tuesday.
;DQuicher took me out to dinner for my birthday after 7:00pm & the meal was great. I wore my chocolate Jedi. I think people either know what the outfit is & say nothing or they don't know what it is might be thinking "who is that whatever?" Oh well Jedi like to seem invisible & it does seem to work. I did not wear a robe. She had the staff at Lone Star sing Happy Birthday to me & we had a huge sunday for desert. Quicher told me if I wanted to go out at nighttime again, because I usually never go out past 6:00 pm(unless I'm at a con, at Disney or Vegas), she'd be more then willing to do that. So you knows I may be doing some nighttime shopping or whatever in the future. Might even get to a movie sometime.

Ok my birthday weekend is over & I can honestly say I didn't expect to be celebrating it as long as I did. I'm most grateful to everybody who sent me best wishes.
On Sunday I had the chance to wear my Jedi uniform 1 more time & it felt sooooo ;D good to wear it.
I had a cake that matched my Jedi uniform. My cousin remembers that I used to watch Mickey Mouse Club avidly when I was a child & she got me the dvd of it & a Disney Calendar. When I'm not doing Star Wars I'm like Disney(but not costume).
So all in all I had a very good birthday ;D

I have some good news! A little yorkie I take care of had surgery last week to remove a growth on his butt. He's 14 and came through just fine! He was a little sick afterwards, and ticked off at his mom for putting him through this, but hey, it had to be done. He's all back to normal minus a few teeth. Pureed chicken, yum!! Everyone is relieved he will be okay.

Saturday I did a charity bit with the RL & 501st in a nearby park for sick and handicapped kids, what a blast!
I was pleased to see that our costuming standards are much higher than the RL... ;D
TODAY.... MY NEW SEWING MACHINE IS HERE!!!!! The old one died of old age just as I was starting a new undertunic...

I started up my own little business on the side a few months ago. Nothing huge, just to bring a few extra bucks. Finally got some work through the business and got my first check. Whoo-hoo! Finally able to catch up on some bills.
Just had to tell someone. ;D

You need to follow an old custom -- get a nice new dollar bill and frame it and hang it on the wall as your "first dollar earned" in your new business. Congratulations!

I didn't think of that. I did however make a photo copy of the check before I cashed it. I might put the dollar and the check copy in the frame.

Well the dollar is really symbolic... if you're starting a business that may be all you can spare! ;D But glad you liked the idea... it's an old custom....
