In Epsoide Six ROTJ Luke asks Leia does he remember her ream mother. She replies very little what she does remember is she was sad.
But what I am confused is how does Leia remembers her mother she was just a newborn when her mother dies.
So how does she knows about her real mother?

Here we go again!! In other words, this has been discussed in another thread, and as I remember it was a fairly deep lengthy one (if it wasn't is should have been LOL ). Anywho, don't feel as if I'm trying to bite your head off, because I'm not. I'm just rather bored and feel the need to explain what I'm saying. No biggie though, as a matter of fact I'm not sure why I'm even typing this much....ok my speil is over.

It was the Force. "But Jaren, why didn't Luke remember her?" I'm glad you asked, Split Personality. See, if you look, Luke never sees Padme. Well, technically, he saw her innards for nine months, but let's not get into that. Leia, however, sees Padme for nine months and approximately 4 seconds. Think back. How many very, very trivial things do you remember from your childhood, even if they were very fleeting. I actually remember something very early on where I was eating baby food (rice cereal). So, with the aid of the Force, Leia could remember Padme.

It's simply George Lucas changing things to fit Ep III: If Padme had lived at the end of the movie (which would fit Leia's line in ROTJ)- there would be too many loose ends to tie up. So Padme had to die, and Leia's line makes no sense. It's just a plot alteration. Luke asked Leia if she remembered her real mother, which implies that both Leia and Luke know that she was adopted- I don't think Leia is referring to her adopted mother when she answers Luke's question. Again- I don't think it has anything to do with Force sensitivity, or who was born first/last, or that Leia had her eyes open/Luke didn't. It was just a change in the story that George felt he had to do- and that only the hardcore fans (like us) might catch.

This may help...Or add more confusion to the debate? In the Thrawn trilogy when Leia is pregnant with Jacen & Janica she has a really strong connection with them thru the force, even before they are born. Leia can sense what they are thinking and talks to them (thru the force) to calm their fears. Perhaps Leia has memories of Padme thru the force and that is what lingers and she thinks are actual real-life memories.....

luke may have been stronger in the force, but maybe because leia was female, her and padme had a stronger connection to each other through the force, more attuned to each other.

Perhaps she was mixing memories of her real mother wth her adopted mother...unlikely, but just a thought. The fact remains that Owen and Beru were evidently very secretive about Luke's parentage. The barely told him anything about his father...and he never even mentions his mother (that we know of) until ROTJ. I know he was probably curious...maybe for once Owen or Beru told the truth; that Padme died giving birth and conveniantly left out the fact he had a twin sister. We have no idea whether or not Bail and his wife told Leia about her 'real' mother. They may have, and memories were 'built' off of that. Was Leia stronger in the Force? I dunno. I think their 'strength' was the same but in different areas. For example, Luke flew by the seat of his pants and could fix just about anything..like Anakin. Leia evidently got into the political arena...like her mom and adoptive father. I know I got off subject, but it's just my own little explanation. I don't really care why or how Leia remembered. It's kinda like Apple Jacks...she just did!

Add that to the fact that Leia had her eyes open and saw Padme, whereas Luke did not...

Add that to the fact that Leia had her eyes open and saw Padme, whereas Luke did not... Umm... no offense guys, but I think you have to watch the Padme Birth/Death scene one more time. Both Luke and Leia have their eyes shut. I think everyone is confusing the eyes open/closed stuff with the end of the film- as Leia looks at her adopted parents and Luke is handed off to Breu by Obi-Wan. And as for a strong connection with their Mother- if you watch closely Obi-Wan is still holding Luke as Padme delivers her last line "There's good in him, I know there is still..." Luke is calm. However after Padme passes away, Luke begins crying.
