I'm frankly more concerned about there being female Jedi in any upcoming SW series. The movies are out and done. When ANH came out there was a lot fan comment about there not being any female pilots attacking the Death Star; this sounds like a similar argument.

well Aayla you have started a pretty good discussion hereMaybe George will decide to make e7 8 9 and make one of the main characters a girl jedi just because you suggested it how cool would that be

Female Jedi may not have the big Jedi parts, BUT I think Shmi, Padme and Leia more than make up for that. I mean, Star Wars as a whole gives women just as much credit as the men. It just so happens that the main Jedi characters are men, as Qual pointed out. And Leia DOES become a Jedi eventually, and does Jaina. I know, it's EU at this point, but George Lucas did come up with the story line.
Still, I see your point. I'm just not offended by the lack of Jedi gals having speaking parts.

yeah you do give valid points there but all im saying is he could have given a female jedi just one little line would just make me happy but the fact is you see them quite alot in ep1,2,3 and still nothing wow that would be awsome if GL read this and did that

Why is this so important to you? I see no conflict here.

Maybe George will decide to make e7 8 9 and make one of the main characters a girl jedi just because you suggested it If GL made Ep VII, VIII, and IV, then one of the main character would be Mara Jade! ;D How's that for a strong female force-user?

If GL made episodes 7,8,9, Leia and Mon Mothma would be very strong female characters. Forming the New Republic was a very daunting task. Mon Mothma led the Rebellion and then had to lead the formation and maintaining of the New Republic. Leia was torn between her Jedi training and being a public official (I think she was the Vice Chancellor to Mon Mothma). Her power of the Force is just as great as Luke's, but she is "just" untrained. Mon Mothma becomes sick and dies after an assassination attempt, and the running of the New Republic is dropped into Leia's hands unexpectedly, and she has to stop her Jedi training (but not after she has gained some skills). And let's not forget that she is also married to Han Solo and has 2 young twin children (i.e. she's a mother and a wife and a leader all at the same time while being a Jedi in training). I would strongly recommend reading the Thrawn Trilogy to see how strong Leia is. I was just talking abhout this with another Star Wars fan and he recommended that GL make the Thrawn Trilogy and Dark Empire stories into Episodes 7,8,9.

Yeah I saw some talk somewhere else about GL wasn't going to do any more movies, but that someone had approached him wanting to do the Thrawn trilogy and he didn't condemn it. Don't know if that's fact or just rumor . . .
It'd be awesome if it did happen, though.
