I'm not getting a complete connection with Dooku and his involvement in all this. I understand he's the leader of the Seperatists. But does he realize that Palpatine is Sidious? Surely he would know that since he told Obi Wan the Senate is under the control of the Sith. If that's the case, why would he "kidnap" Palpatine in Ep3? It's his master. Only to be killed by Anakin? Was Sidious using and manipulating Dooku beyond his (dooku's) knowledge to ultimately kill him off? It's like George just had certain things take place without truely connecting them. And how about Jango Fett. He donates his DNA for the Clone Army and then takes off and joins Dooku and the Separatists. Why? Were they simply helping Sidious manipulate things for his advantage? Their seems to be something missing from the whole plot to me.

Dooku is merely a pawn. ANd I don't think he realizes how much of a pawn he is. He knows who Sidious really is. But Dooku does not understand how much Sidious is interested in Anakin. So, yes, Sidious was using Dooku to bait Anakin, and vice versa to sme extent. Dooku was the big-shot Jedi in his days and now I think there is some jealousy seeing this new punk kind Anakin being hthe hot shot

In regards to Jango, he was recruited for the cloning by Tyrannus (Dooku). Sidious would have instructed Tyrannus to recruit Fett for being cloned, with his Army of the Republic in mind, which would eventually become the Empire. Sidious planned it all from the beginning. He controlled both the Republic and the CIS.

Regrettably, Tyrannus is just a bit player, nothing more. Not only are the Sith two-faced in dealing with others, but with each other as well.

Yeah I would really hate to be Dooku in the 3rd movie. But the thing with Jango Fett I thought that he could have lasted to the 3rd movie and was disappointed when he died.

But Jango needed to die in AOTC. If he hadn't, there wouldn't have been very much resolved at Geonosis. For the whole movie, the Jedi had been tracking the bounty hunter responsible for the assassination attempt on Amidala. That was the reason for putting in all the action with the Coruscant speeder chase, arm chopping Zam Wessel, the trip to Kamino, the rain fight, the asteroid belt, Geonosis, and the arena battle. If Jango had not hired Zam to blow up Amidala's ship, AOTC would have been titled "Republic Politicians Argue While Jedi Stand Around". RPAWJSA would have been a bad movie. Because Jango's actions were the driving force behind the whole movie, he had to die.

I mean I know he had to die I'm just saying he was one of my favorite characters and when Mace chopped off his head it made me go NO WAY right in front of everyone in the theater (plus I was expecting Obi-Wan to kill him).

If you read the book, Labyrinth of Evil, it tells you why he kidnaps Palpy... The Jedi are getting too close to finding out who he really is, and also he needs to get off-planet.

Leda you have to remember that some people don't like to read (I hope that isn't anyone on this site). Oh and if I'm sounding rude I'm sorry I don't mean to.

Don't like to read? I love reading and I can't imagine not. My biggest problem is coming up with the money to keep buying books. If I'm really into them I'll be done in a week or so. It's hard to have to buy a new book every saturday.

I was just talking about anyone who might not like to read, not anyone in particular.

First of all, the fact that it was a diversion makes sense then. That would explaine a bunch to me. Thanks for the insight. Secondly, I'm not a big reader. I love comics and RPG stuff, but I've never been a big novel reader. But once in a while I check things out. PErhaps LoE will be one. (and no offense taken )

In high school I avoided reading at all costs. I think I read two out of the many books we were assigned... and the grades showed. I would rather write my own books and make up my own stories. I did more writing than reading.
