Well I think they are trying slowly to merge into a more 1970's style (when the original SW came out). They say Obi's hair is going ot be different too and a little more gray.
I dunno, I kinda like the longer hair

LOL! Couldn't resist! No... if that's what he's going to look like in Ep.3..... then his appearence has improved!!!!!!!!
Personally I think he might have been promoted due to the Clone Wars or something... sounds like a mystery!!!!!

Darn Lucas! He was making all the sites take the photo down so you know it must be pretty authentic. I'll see if I can find another pic.
BTW, Padawansguide.com has some early pics of Ewan, too, in his new do. I like the Ep. 2 look better, but he's transitioning to the older Obi-Wan from ANH
