I could NOT accept any other actors playing the roles of the characters from the original trilogy.... We will just have to accept....Ep III will be the end of it... but it will live through the fans...

I agree, I couldn't see anyone else as Luke, Leia, or Han! And they have already said (except for Mark), that they wouldn't do SW again.........so, no more . , even if George wanted to make 7-9. Which he says he won't!

It's quite possible that if he did 7,8, & 9 that it would be after the lifetime of Luke, Leia & Han, just as Padme is gone, Anakin is dead, Yoda & Obi Wan are gone and so on. Lucas always said that the Droids were the only characters that were in all of the stories.

True....they could be stories of Jacen and Jaina... but to the die hard Star Wars fans I don't know if it would fly...some Star Wars fans won't even accept the Expanded Universe ..... I used to be one of those people until I gave the books a try.

I agree with everyone. It would be better if they Han and Leia as parents of teenage kids. And, without Darth Vader as a villan, or central figure, it's not really Star Wars. I wonder what they could do to keep it SW and still do the next 3 films?

George had nothing to do w/ J & J so they might not figure in this, at any rate it's all in Georgie boy's head, till he decides to tell us about it. Be Ever Hopeful!

I believe he has the story in his head, and never wrote it all down, he has changed details along the way as needed, for instance, originally there was no Qui Gon Jinn but he added him because Obi Wan seemed to young to do all that was required(I'm so glad, I like QGJ)I read that in other places before the article that was posted today, and of course, Jabba was originally a fat human guy in a KILT (what a sight that would have been) I have the original novelisation that has that desciption in it, tho' it was gone from the next printing. We'll just have to wait & see.

Every story changes with enough drafts done. I know.. i go write something down and I tak eout parts or compleatly change them. The Star Wars saga is abotu love, hate, betrayal, and redemption. without Vader there isn't much left to do. The story is about him in essence. with him dead theres no reason to do 7,8,9. i've never heard what happens in 7,8,9 so i cant say weather or not I'd want him to make it. But i heard when they started making 1 that they were going to do 1,2,3 and then work on 7,8,9. Unless thats changed from what i heard then I dun know. I was working at the movie thearter when i heard that to, so i figure thats a decent source. if not oh well. guess the star wars fans will just have to do something and see if we can get Lucas to sanction conventions every few years. That would be ultra cool.

Wait a minute... you said that the story is about Vader. That's what it looks like now, but maybe we're wrong. When they did the OT, everyone thought it was a story about Luke, and now we find out there's more to it. If Lucas said the droids are the only ones that are in all of the movies, then it probably isn't about a person or droid. Maybe it's about something totally different, like Anakin's bringing balance to the Force. I mean, it doesn't have to be that, but maybe it's about an idea instead of a character. So there's still alot he could do in another 3 episodes.

Hmmmm......... good point. I hope you are right! That would be cool to have 3 more episodes and still have it be SW.

When I went to the Chicago Field Museum to see the Star Wars exhibit "The Magic of the Myth", there was an information card up that was done by George Lucas....it basically said that Star Wars is the story of the redemption of Anakin Skywalker....

I gotta admit....I was a little stunned when I saw that card.....after all, Darth Vader/Anakin really didn't have much screen time during the first three movies.....so finding out that Star Wars was his story was a little confusing to me too.

Well, yeah, it's about Anakin/Vader, but isn't also about the Skywalker family against the backdrop of political upheaval? Still, I don't think it would be the same w/out Vader....... Especially not after the Prequels.
