Alas Babylon Madame Bovary (Gustave Flaubert) Kon-Tiki (Thor Heyerdahl, a true story about his expedition) Don Quixote...now there's a guy who could've used a forum like JA!
and non-fic...
Meditations at Sunset (James Trefil) Finding Darwin's God (Kenneth R. Miller) The Physics of Star Trek (Lawrence M. Krauss) Why People Believe Weird Things (Michael Shermer) The Elegant Universe (Brian Greene) A Brief History of Time (Stephen Hawking) Pale Blue Dot (Carl Sagan) The Worst Case Scenario Survival Handbook The Ki in Aikido

Some members of the Rebel Legion and the fighting 501st (and myself) are going to a local bookstore in costume on Friday night...
Mathew Stover ...author of Shatterpoint will be signing copies of the book....can't wait!
I think Stover also wrote "Traitor" in the NJO...one of my favorites of the NJO

I had the author sign my new copy of "Shatterpoint"...I have started reading it....so far....so good.... The booksigning was a blast! We had Stormtroopers, Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker, an x-wing pilot...and several other Jedi.....it was so cool....the public really got into it! One girl, however, was dressed as some character from the Star Wars Comic books....I haven't a clue who she was.....she even admitted that she carried a copy of the comic book in case anyone asked her who she was dressed as.....which is why I always tell folks that if they intend to interact with the public when they are in costume....have something that is recognizable to "Joe Average Star Wars Fan"....

I really think it will take too much room to list everything I've read (my mom has a masters in reading and its sort of in the family) but I'll list my favorites. I've read most of the SW books except the x-wing series. Favorites are the Thrawn trilogy, Hand of Thrawn duo, Star by Star and Dark Journey. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen Mara: Daughter of the Nile by Eloise McGraw (favorite book) A Midsummer's Night Dream by Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet also by Shakespeare Protectress of the Nile (Author will remain nameless) All Harry Potter books by JK Rowling (love Harry Potter ) Brigett Jones's Diary by I can't remember who Beauty (fav childhood horsey book- can't remember author) Treasure Island by um Robert Louis Stevensen i think The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne (watch the movie!!) The 10th Kingdom can't remember author (great TV series also!!) And that's a good basic highlight but I've read tons more.

Looks like Im like alot of the members here, I rwad varaciously. I have over 500 scifi and fantasy books in my collection alone (I stopped counting after 500) and Im always buying more. Then there is my collection of Ebooks, Im currently on 2 CD's worth of text file books. Thats ALOT of books. While I much prefer a real paperbook to sit down and read I do alot of travelling and I cant take my collection with me so the laptop and a couple of cd's is much easier I bought 2 hardbacks and 2 paperbacks just this past week and Ive finished reading all of them already Actually Shatterpoint was one of the hardbacks I bought this week, mainly because it deals with my favourite Jedi, Mace Windu but I have to say I was moderately dissapointed by this book. There were certain elements/phrases used that just were not starwars and spoiled it for me. Nowhere near as good as my all time favourite SW book of I' Jedi.

I am struggling with "Shatterpoint" too....I was excited about it because I loved "Traitor" which is by the same author...but I gotta admit...I am not getting into "Shatterpoint" in the same way....I am about half way through and am losing interest fast.....
I don't have much time to read...but if the book is really good...I seem to make time...I have not made much time for "Shatterpoint"
