Every once in awhile, we just have something on our minds and we hate to start a new thread for it. This is where you can come and just say what's on your mind whether it makes sense or not. Say one word or a whole thought. Sometimes just seeing something in writing can make it look different....and getting feedback is always good.......I'll start.....
hmmmmm....I wonder if we could get more smilies for our posts......man it is getting warm here today. It is 74 degrees already. I hate the thought of turning on my air conditioner....

I have random thoughts! Let's see, this morning's were: "The carpet is starting to smell like the cat, not good, time to rent that carpet shampooer." "How the heck am I going to shampoo the carpet with no place to put the furniture?" "I wonder if the ice storm will cause flooding...better check in with little sis." and finally: "I haven't posted on TJA message board in forever!" heehee

How come it ALWAYS rains when I go camping? Why on earth are we getting a foot of snow in April? When can wear my summer tunic and relax at a poolside bar drinking blue curacao & soda? When will my dear husband get a job? Sigh! Vent session over!
I did learn something cool this weekend...
If you crunch a wintergreen lifesaver between your teeth with your mouth open in complete darkness...it sparks! Try it with someone or look in a mirror...but be careful not to break a tooth. This is the same type of light emitted by fireflies...it has to do with the crushing of the sugar molecules and the fact that the wintergreen flavor contains a phosphor.

I remember when they were everywhere at night. Leda...I guess the ice age is upon us. We are having uncommonly cool weather for Florida also. I need

Haven't seen any fireflies yet, but it's still early. Usually you can spot them by Memorial Day. I remember seeing alot more of them at my old house. I live in the woods now, and I'd expect to see tons of 'em but I think the bats eat 'em...we have tons of those too. One flew in the house last year and it was soooo cute! I wanted to keep it. As far as spring wildlife goes... the spring peepers are out in abundance! You know, those tiny little frogs that make noise enough to drown out the kids yelling and screaming?!!!
